Game Instructions

Play a piece of history with this 3D rendition of Mancala.

How to Play

Mancala is an ancient board game with straightforward rules. Here are the rules:

Your Territory
Each player controls only their row of cups on their side of the board. The bottom row belongs to you, and you can only move gems from these cups. Once gems reach your opponent's row (the top), you cannot directly control them.

Basic Movement
On your turn, click on any cup from your row that has at least one gem. This picks up all gems from that cup and distributes them one by one into consecutive cups, moving counterclockwise around the board until there are no more gems to deposit.

Bonus Turns
If you drop your final gem into your Mancala (your scoring cup), you get another turn. If, in your next turn, your final gem lands on your Mancala again, you get to keep going. This rule can result in powerful chain reactions and is good to factor into your strategy.

Capturing Opponent's Gems
When your final gem lands in an empty cup on your side of the board, check the opponent's cup directly opposite to it. If it contains any gems, you capture all gems in the opponent's cup in addition to your own. "Capturing" a gem means you get to place them in your Mancala. Your turn ends.

Practice, practice, practice
Start by playing against the computer to learn the basics. Once you're comfortable with the rules, challenge other players for a more competitive experience!
